The Muggs are an American blues trio formed in 2000, and that’s their second album. Their sound is so retro, and old-fashioned that sounds fresh! I am sure it’s gonna bring in mind loads of huge bands of the past like Jimmy Hendrix Experience, Cream, Yardbirds, as well as Neil Young, or even Mott The Hoople, with a touch of Southern rock in several parts, and an emphasis on improvisational jams that make the songs longer, overindulging the music-loving audience! It seems that Danny Methric, Tony DeNardo, Matt Rost, who are the Muggs, are soaked in the blues, and the ‘70s classic rock so much, that when you listen to “On With The Show” you might think it comes from that days. Always hypothetically speaking, “Just Another Fool” could have been a hit if it was released in late ‘60s, early ‘70s…
Another special characteristic of the band is Tony DeNardo’s basslines that are played on a Fender Rhodes piano connected to a bass amplifier! On vocals and guitar Danny Methric combines his slightly nasal, metal, grainy voice with some outstanding playing, hard riffs, and ‘carved’ solos.
The Muggs have already draw some attention in the States having won loads of awards, having played in festivals, opened for bands, contributed in compilation albums, and appeared on TV, and music documentaries.
