In a warm venue, in front of 700-750 Uriah Heep, as we’ve never seen them before in Greece: they were seated, with acoustic organs, except for the keyboards. They took us on a wonderful trip for almost 70 minutes with tunes from their entire career span, up to “Sonic Origami” (1998). This was a concert like a wet dream for those who had watched, or heard the “Acoustically Driven” (2001) album, with the band full of energy, and wit as always, despite the limitations of an acoustic show. And, of course, as always they managed to drive the crowd insane with “Free Me”, and the super-classic “Lady In Black”. The adaptation of the songs was sometimes slightly different from the originals, like on “Heartless Land”, where Bernie Shaw sung the chorus a bit slower. But, overall they stayed very close to the originals, even on songs like “Sunrise”, and “Blind Eye”.
In a nutshell, it was a very beautiful show, which unfortunately was very…short in duration…
