Bruce Kulick was always a respectful musician who manages to release brand new music and in the same time keep a high level of performance. During his recent trip to Australia, Bruce had with him for all the fans Downunder a 3-track EP so as to pave the way and give a small sample of his upcoming third full-length solo record. The vocals on the first track (“No Friend Of Mine”) are handled by John Corabi (Motley Crue, Union) and without any hesitation I must underline that this is the best song that Bruce Kulick has written since 2000. Mid-tempo hard rock, with a sensational guitar solo and Corabi’s trademark raspy voice. The follow-up “And I Know” takes us to more radio-friendly territories and the closing instrumental “Between The Lines” features non other than the legendary Steve Lukather on lead guitar (Bruce Kulick’s ex-bandmate in Blackjack,Jimmy Haslip, plays bass on this one).
If we judge by this small sample that we have in our hands, then it is likely that Bruce Kulick is about to unleash his finest studio offering since the Union debut 11 years ago. The EP is now available through Kulick’s website . Highlight: Among the special guest on the album is Gene Simmons.
