What could someone expect from a festival that inspired its name from a Roxx Gang song?
The obvious answer is a strong dosage of Hard Rock, Heavy Metal and of course Glam! With three bands instead of the initial five (since the line-up was affected by the sudden departure of the Star Star drummer and the last minute illness of the Addiction vocalist) but also with high spirits since the audience gathered early in order to catch the first appearance by Lace n’ Leather. A newly formed AOR/Melodic hard rock band that presented a set based on classic covers on songs by bands like Europe, Whitesnake, Thunder but also two originals which were the highlights of their performance. Female singer Constantina deserves a special mention since she stood up to the challenges presented by these great songs. The sole problem was the sound of the guitar that was a bit low in the mix, especially when it came to the lead parts.
Up next was the heavy metal band with a heart full of Glam, Crimson Fire. With a flawless and energetic performance, they made lots of new friends among the audience while George “The Omen”, a fanatic supporter of the Greek Scene, demanded an encore and literally ordered the band to play The Prophet’s Gaze in what was an unscheduled performance. Singer Johnny B. has no match, his amazing live performance is even better that his studio one.
That was an ideal preparation for the highly anticipated return of Wild Machine after many years of absence. With a new line-up after several changes and an appetite for greater things. Second Skin Club was almost full and the audience had the chance to witness a unique band by Greek standards. Frontman Johnny Hott was in great shape and so were the rest of the Machine and the band rose to the challenge like a true festival headliner.
