A piano used by Black Sabbath among many others, from the famous Rockfield Studios just outside Monmouth, UK, is up for sale on eBay. According to the listing:
“This is a rare chance to own a true piece of British rock history. We are reluctantly selling our Grand Piano as it has come to the end of it’s life as a recording instrument. It is currently in our recording studio – Monnow Valley Studio – in South Wales. The piano was bought new in the late 1980s from Cranes in Cardiff and has featured on some of the best known records in the world. Most famously, it appeared on the cover of the single which spawned Britpop – Oasis’ Supersonic – and was used on their album ‘Definitely Maybe’, recorded here in 1993. It has been played by the majority of our client list – from The Charlatans, Catatonia, Manic Street Preachers, Black Sabbath, Stereophonics and Simple Minds to Charlie Simpson and Bellowhead… amongst many more”!
