KISS bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons made a teenager’s dream come true. After receiving an e-mail request from PICU nursing staff and child life specialist Sarah Castiel at Children’s Hospital of Nevada last week, Simmons visited Dilan Kohn to fulfill the critically ill 17-year-old wish. Simmons had not only been Dilan’s idol, but also his inspiration growing up. Simmons flew to Las Vegas the morning after receiving the letter and brought a huge bag full of signed memorabilia for Kohn. They hung out, shared stories and laughed together for well over an hour while staff looked on with tears in their eyes.
Unfortunately, Dilan passed away peacefully a couple days later.
