Iced Earth will release “Alive In Athens” on vinyl for the first time on December 6th, to celebrate its 20th anniversary. The album, which was recorded at the legendary Rodon club over two nights on January 23 and 24, 1999, had been released as a double and triple CDs, but also as a picture disc and of course it had become gold in Greece. The new version of “Alive In Athens” will cover five 180-gram discs containing a 12-page booklet. Schaffer states: “‘Alive In Athens’ has been called one of the greatest heavy metal live albums of all time. For me, it was one of the high points in a long and eventful journey that carries on to this day. I’ve experienced some of the best memories of my musical and personal life in Greece and these two nights in Athens are certainly no exception. I am honored and humbled by the passion of ICED EARTH fans in Greece and all over the world and hope you will all enjoy this ultimate edition of ‘Alive In Athens’!’
