Blue Öyster Cult have announced a very special concert in the UK under their original name, Soft White Underbelly.

The only original and constant member of Blue Öyster Cult, Donald “Buck Dharma” Roeser, formed Soft White Underbelly in 1967 alongside drummer Albert Bouchard, keyboardist Allen Lanier, guitarist John Wiesenthal, and bassist-vocalist Andrew Winters.

Les Braunstein was recruited as Soft White Underbelly’s first lead vocalist before being replaced by Eric Bloom in April 1969, followed by many other lineup changes.

Leaving behind the name Soft White Underbelly, the band eventually adopted the new name Blue Öyster Cult in 1971, and the rest is history.

However, Blue Öyster Cult played several small club shows in the ‘70s and early ‘80s as Soft White Underbelly.

Now, 44 years later, Soft White Underbelly return for one night only on Saturday, May 24, 2025—just one day before Blue Öyster Cult perform at the London Palladium—at Islington Assembly Hall.

Tickets for the Soft White Underbelly concert are available for purchase via Planet Rock Tickets.
