Conny Ochs is located in Germany, yet nothing in his voice sounds Teutonic. His fabulous American throat is sometimes tough, then it’s warm and mild; it’s the very voice someone expects when you tell them they are about to listen to songs without distortion… It’s just a guitar, a banjo and a man singing, sitting on the floor probably… Stacks of books and vinyls here and there, maybe a Johnny Cash poster on the wall, maybe a Del Amitri album next to a million-times-played “Nebraska”…

Melancholy and warmth, bareness and a good heart, words and chords. Those of you wanting a break after listening to some amazing supersonic material, you have the chance to listen to some tracks, featuring no more than the necessary, whisper the lyrics, even call some friends you haven’t talked to for a while…

Conny hit the road and supported Wino for six weeks, playing his own songs. As I read here, they got along superbly and it seems they did some sort of a session together, which will be released soon.
