I don’t know what’s more stunning… the fact that it’s been almost 4 years since Crazy Lixx’s last studio album or that the Swedes are already counting 20+ years of career! The only thing for sure is that time flies by impressively fast and that’s just not a good thing. We’re driftin’ away, though. “Thrill of the Bite” is the new album by Crazy Lixx; a band that has managed in one way or another to keep their name in the news all the time mainly due to the productivity of singer and main composer Danny Rexon who is a verified workaholic! Last year’s compilation “Two Shots At Glory” gave us a first glimpse of where the band is heading and believe me the result is beyond positive, vindicating their fans and leaving us all eagerly waiting for the new album.

“Thrill of the Bite” finds Crazy Lixx in excellent form with all the songs being again an apotheosis of the old school glam/sleaze sound through the so-called neo-Swedish prism. The production is absolutely in line with the Swedish composing style and all the tracks have that anthemic character with the sing-along choruses and catchy verses that characterize Crazy Lixx’s style anyway. “Little Miss Dangerous”, “Who Said Rock N’ Roll is Dead” and “Hunt For Danger” are impressive and blow you instantly aways with their energy and compositional quality.

At a time when the scepter of hard rock belongs to the Scandinavian scene (for many years, to be precise), Crazy Lixx can easily boast that they are leading (along with H.E.A.T. and Eclipse) an entire movement. I may not be the biggest Crazy Lixx fan, but the truth must ne told here and the bottom line is that “Thrill of the Bite” is a flawless hard rock album. No more analysis is needed…enjoy the album!

Highlight: The beginning of “Call of the Wild” kinda reminds of Maiden’s classic “Flash of the Blade”.
