April 26, 2013. Danger Angel tear the “Kyttaro Live” stage apart, along with Jeff Scott Soto and I’m there as well, singing, pounding, being jealous cuz they look so amazing, being incredibly moved and touched by them guys and… yep, it’s time to ride the DeLorean and travel in the past, almost a month ago. Yiannis Dolas and I visit the boys’ rehearsal refuge, meet with the band and talk about the tour – to come. Chit-chat, awaiting, enthusiasm, zero anxiety and tons of crazy anticipation… Danger Angel lived the dream and we found out how they were feeling before touring nirvana…

It would be a splendid idea to gather them all up again to find out how they feel now. Our boys made a crystal clear statement regarding Greek Rock/Metal Scene and it was one of the highlights for sure. “These past five months five Greek bands have been touring Europe! Is there anybody thinking there is no such scene? Now, for those saying that “Greek Scene has been vulgar to its children”… I’m sick and tired of such statements! Work hard and move on”!

Rockpages.gr: “Revolutia”, the album, was released almost two months ago. What’s the feedback you’ve been getting so far? All the stuff you’ve been reading about…

Ethan Snow: Generally speaking we are really satisfied by what we’ve been receiving by the local press and the international one. We’ve got some good reviews by foreign magazines and the fans are responding accordingly…

AHAS: Not that many reviews from abroad yet, we look forward to seeing how it’s gonna go; in Greece though… We’ve got so many great reviews. I guess we’re gonna have a better feedback update from abroad in two months from now or so…

Ethan: It was released later, outside the border that is…

Tony V.: The truth is we’ve got an amazingly good feedback by the fans…

Rudy Rallis: I’ve read comments in local magazines and abroad. It seems that the album is being loved by the people, although musicians are never satisfied with the final result…

M.T.: The only feedback you can “receive” as a band, is the actual fans feedback. Judging from the people’s response, towards the album and our band, it’s been nothing but positive. The fans are loving the album, maybe as much as we are. Now… as far as where we are going with this… Human beings tend to be weird creatures, we are always on the look out for more.

Rockpages.gr: This album, in comparison with your debut… In comparison with the band start up, if you will… What do you think about it now?

M.T.: Since I was not singing in the first album, I don’t have a complete view about it. Debut album was also loved by the fans, it was truly loved by the fans! Due to the fact that I got to sing that entire album, livewise, feedback was amazing in general. And I’m talking about every song in the set, not just the one Jeff Scott Soto is singing. In terms of the differences between the first album and the second one… The first one is not “mine”, not that much… The second one though… That’s me!

Rockpages.gr: The “third album” has become a major breakthrough for many bands in the past. Considering the second album feedback, are you thinking that your third one might send you skyhigh?

M.T.: I don’t think that bands consider whether they will follow “tradition” with their “third album”. The fact that it’s history so far… Time will tell…

Rockpages.gr: How do you see the band now, regarding discography and what you do now?

AHAS: Well, our debut was totally different. It was a Hard Rock album. This one is something completely different. We got a new singer, we’ve got one guitar “less”. Since M.T. has arrived, we decided to move on with our music and our sound. We wanted to do something else…

Ethan: We didn’t even have to consult and talk it over… We were listening to new stuff in music, we were obtaining new visions…

Rockpages.gr: Life on the road is a motive for inspiration or simply a way to get tired?

Ethan: I’ve done that thing in the past, too… It’s pure inspiration. As for the “tiresome” issue, no matter how tiresome it gets to travel from city to city, from one country to the next, when you get to the venue, you only care about playing and it surely is a step for inspiration…

AHAS: A lil’ bit of both I think. It’s gonna be tiresome, however, inspiration will surely overcome. I don’t have a clue how much time we’re gonna have in order to come up with some song ideas, every day is traveling days as well as gig day… It’s certain though, when you are on the road, you write a song or two… We’ll see how it goes…

Rudy: There is no “tiresome” issue… Nobody has forced you to tour… It’s something we’ve dreaming for so many years. We’ll know about pros and cons when the tour is over. If you ask me, these twenty five days in Europe will be twenty five Party nights! We are off to play our music, to make people like it…

M.T.: Above all and beyond all… it’s experience! The last thing you will think about is that you’ll get tired. Honestly, I don’t believe you even think about it, especially when you’re doing something so important to your music. It’s such a big deal to be able to play your songs abroad. This tour is going to be our most important experience so far!

Rockpages.gr: I’ve read about the new sponsorships… Do you guys think that a band is becoming more popular that way, more “wanted”, if you will?

AHAS: It’s really important to have a company investing money in our band. The fact that you could have a substantial credit or an endorsement, the fact that a company wants to support you… It’s essential and it’s really pleasant.

Ethan: It’s part of the “business thing”. You might wanna try to fund it yourself, however, it’s so hard. It’s easier when you’ve got sponsors. It’s something every band is after.

Rockpages.gr: You’ve got a video out for “When I’m Gone”… Are you thinking about a second video, now that you’re gonna be on tour, with all that Live Footage material you’ll collect? Have you picked a song yet?

Rudy: As you know, ideas come and go… Naturally we want to make a second video… Even a third one… Should the touring material is sufficient in order to do something… We would like to create a clip out of those twenty five days on the road… Like a visual calendar…

Tony: It will happen! It’s already set…

M.T.: We’re gonna have a second clip ready when we get back from the tour. I’m 99% certain we’ll be ready. It’s more of a personal necessity plus the fact that fans keep asking for one more.

Rockpages.gr: Okay, but have you picked a song yet?

Rudy: We are thinking about “Not An Angel”; we can use it along with a pun about the band…

M.T.: (without even blinking) “Falling”!

Rockpages.gr: What is the most intriguing thing, regarding your future? The one thing that makes you stronger?

Tony: Music is the most important thing, music itself! We love music and I tend to believe music loves us back… We will never stop playing! The most intriguing thing… Where we want to go, where we want to be… Danger Angel have a long way ahead!

Rudy: Whether we make an album that a billion fans will buy or play just for us… We’ll never stop making music.

Tony: Although our sophomore album is just out, we already have some ideas about the third one. Imagine that the day our album was released, Ethan called me to tell me that he had written a brand new song!

M.T.: Danger Angel’s new album, “Revolutia”, is moving based on this specific motif. One reason it’s released is music of course and the other one is that we want to have an opinion – musically! Now, about the new album? Although we have already started composing… When you start writing a song, it’s a whole different issue in two months time…

Rockpages.gr: Would you like to tell me about this wonderful collaboration with InsideOut Music Web Promotion? I read about it over your official website…

Tony: InsideOut is a company formed by well-known bassist Kyprianos, an amazing bass guitarist. It deals with promotion for bands in Greece and abroad. We were asked to cooperate and since Kyprianos is a dear friend to us all, we said yes!

Rockpages.gr: Four days before lift-off… How do you guys feel?

Tony: We feel so lucky! I think the word “Anticipation” doesn’t even begin to describe how we feel! It’s like we’re supposed to leave in the next four minutes! We were so thrilled when they popped the question to partake in this tour. We so want to leave!

Rudy: Let me put it this way… It’s like talking to an eight-year-old, outside a candy store. “As soon as it opens, go ahead, get in and you can have anything you like”! It’s almost like this. Beautiful things are about to happen…

M.T.: Ι just feel blessed! Couldn’t feel any less different. Just positive feelings… I just wish for the best only, hoping this tour gets the feedback and impact it deserves.
