I didn’t know about Ektomorf until I saw them opening for Kreator in Athens. That was at least seven years ago. What I mostly remember is their lyrics. They really made an impression…”fuck the fuckin’ fucker, fuck you all, fuck off, fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck, motherfucker” or something like that to give you an idea. Now I discover the band’s “lyricism” is not sacrificed in the name of any progress.

In terms of music solely Ektomorf sounds like late Sepultura meets Soulfly meets Slipknot meets Pantera. The Hungarians have written very energetic songs with non-stop groove, sharp guitars and lots of blast beating. The core elements are also noticeable in Zoltan Farkas’s vocal delivery. Everything above is highlighted by the loud and clear production. To make a long story short we have a very simple yet really angry album.  Personally I don’t like genres such as nu-metal/thrashcore and groove core so consequently I don’t like “Redemption”. Still I can imagine teenagers breaking their necks with this one.
