Στην τελετή απονομής των βραβείων Grammy δεν θα μπορούσε να μη γίνει αναφορά σε δυο από τις μεγαλύτερες απώλειες στο rock πρόσφατα. Έτσι, o Jackson
On this years’ Grammy Awards ceremony there was a special mention on the recent losses in rock. Thus, Lady Gaga performed a David Bowie medley, Jackson Browne joined Don Henley and Joe Walsh of the Eaglles to play “Take It Easy” and finally it was Hollywood Vampire’s turn to honour Lemmy. The band was introduced on stage by Dave Grohl who said: “Many of us play rock and roll, but very few of us are rock and roll. Lemmy Kilmister was rock and roll. He was a rebel and an outsider, one of a kind and a way of life. He was Motorhead. He was a legend and I was proud to call him my friend. I have an ‘Ace of Spades’ tattoo, but the truth is Lemmy and Motorhead left their mark on me a long time ago, just as they did for everybody who’s ever loved rock and roll. As Lemmy taught us in ‘Ace of Spades,’ the pleasure is to play. So tonight, I wanna thank Lemmy and the late Phil ‘Philthy Animal’ Taylor for their music and everything it meant.” Following these words Hollywood Vampires got on stage and played a brand new song, “As Bad As I Am” (which is going to be a bonus track on the album’s deluxe edition) and concluded with “Ace Of Spades”, which you can watch below. For the record, Ghost won were awarded with the “Best Metal Performance” award for their song “Circle” from the album “Meliora”.
