It seems that Greece has come up with a bunch of really remarkable hard rock outfits in the last few years. Bands that are not trying, by any means, to reinvent the wheel in music but to pay tribute –more or less- to the glory days of the 80s. Flying Mercury, Wild Rose and now Heart Attack are perfect examples of how the whole thing is done if you are working tirelessly on the songs and the overall performance.
Essentially, what we have here is the absolute tribute to the melodic hard rock sound of the late 80s/early 90s with the compositions bearing a striking resemblance to bands like Bon Jovi, Dokken and Firehouse. There is a balanced mix on the guitars and the keyboards and the only downfall of “Heart Revolution” is the mediocre production that doesn’t do justice to the quality of the songs themselves. Especially the drum sound is so weak that makes excellent songs like “Living A Lie” and “Playing With Fire” lose something of their spark!
All in all, “Heart Revolution” might not bring forth a…revolution but it’s definitely a call to arms; a positive start for a hopeful continuation in the harsh music business…especially in Greece.
Highlight: The (many) guest stars on the album are well-know musicians in the Greek rock scene.
