In particular, a southern blues band from California trademarked the name “Idle Hands” in 2014 and therefore can no longer be used by the band from Portland.
“Due to U.S. trademark law, we are no longer able to perform or record music under the name Idle Hands. We have done everything in our power to retain the name, but we cannot. While regrettable, these things happen. Subsequently, we are liquidating almost all Idle Hands merchandise at extremely reduced prices until sold out.
Note that the band had already released 2 EP’s and a full length album.
So far no new name has been announced.
