Jon Bon Jovi allegedly helped save a woman who was threatening to commit suicide by jumping off a bridge in Nashville. According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, the 62-year-old BON JOVI frontman was filming a video for his song “The People’s House” around 6 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 10) afternoon on the John Seigenthaler pedestrian bridge when he saw the woman hanging off the edge of the bridge. Jon approached the woman who appeared to be preparing to end her life by jumping off the bridge, spoke to her and persuaded her not to kill herself. He eventually helped her back to the walkway and hugged her before they left together.
The local Nashville Police Department issued a statement praising Jon for this truly great gesture:
“Kudos to Jon Bon Jovi and his team for helping a woman on the Seigenthaler Ped Bridge Tue night,” noted a tweet from the Metro Nashville Police Department. “Bon Jovi helped convince her not to jump over the Cumberland River to save herself.”
