According to Variety magazine, the shooting for the movie “The Real Me”, about the life of the legendary Who drummer, Keith Moon, will start in June.
Pete Townshed and Roger Daltrey will be the executive producers of the film, which will be directed by Paul Whittington (The Crown, White House Farm) in a screenplay by Jeff Pope (“Philomena”).
“The Real Me” will be produced by White Horse Pictures, best known for Martin Scorcese’s documentary “George Harrison: Living In The Material World” and Ron Howard’s “Eight Days A Week: The Touring Years” for the Beatles.
The idea for this film has been around for many years, and has been in the works for at least a decade. In an earlier interview, Daltrey had stated about the protagonist: ““It’s going to be very, very dependent on the actor and the actor’s eyes. Because you’ve got to cast it completely from the eyes because Moon had extraordinary eyes.”
