I am pretty sure that all the hard rockers out there think of Europe when they hear the phrase “Out Of This World”. Well, who can blame them as we are talking about a classic album that has paved the way for many more to come? So, it comes as no surprise that Kee Marcello decided to use this name for his new band especially due to the fact that this is really a supergroup we are talking about…take notice: Tommy Heart (Fair Warning), Ken Sandin (Alien) and Darby Todd (The Darkness). We should point out that the self-titled debut offering was initially released a year ago in Japan and this reissue by Atomic Fire is packed with additional material. More specifically, it includes three bonus tracks (actually, three demos by Kee Marcello) and the full live album by Out Of This World called “Live From The Heat”…not bad, at all, if you ask me!

In a time and age where melodic rock is stagnated and is presented to the mass under an abominable “plastic” production, Out Of This World is like a beacon of light as the songs are well-crafted, enhanced with a powerful production and the overall performance is flawless. This is clearly an album that reminds us all of the glory days of the genre (late 80s). The self-tiled album by Out Of This World is definitely a strong contender for one of the best hard rock albums of 2022. Personally, I will include it in my list by the end of the year.

Let’s just hope that we will get to see more albums by the band, and it won’t be an one-off project by Kee Marcello.

Highlight: If the single “In A Million Years” reminded you all of Europe, you are absolutely right! This is a track that was penned by Kee Marcello for the sessions of “Prisoners of Paradise” and remained shelved…until now!
