You might remember the Germans previous album, “Screenslaves”, presentation, back in 2008, here at Rockpages. Various things have happened since then… The boys took a break, almost out of necessity, members left the band and then… They started working on the new album. The group from Hamburg is back, playing their well-known style, pure Metal, featuring songs that can make us think of Accept, Running Wild, Grave Digger… And, naturally, Iron Maiden! Epical style, leading style, double bass drums get furious when signs say go. Andreas’ voice is warm, powerful, Metal, reminds me of Rolf a bit; it’s mighty and solid, supported by some exceptional backing vox.
Got to listen to “Gods Of Thunder”… Now, that’s a fantastic song! Yet, this “Bulletstorm” is even more thunderous! The mighty chorus, the melody, the fast tempo… I loved this one. “Blood & Iron” is next and one of the most amazing artists in Metal, Mr. Kai Hansen, is the guest vocalist on this eight-minute epic and… “Welcome to the quest for fire”!
“Blades Of Hell”, a speedster of three-something minutes, is probably the next hit of the record. It’s staccato, features a tasty chorus and some totally cool vox. We better stand aside though cuz “Dynasty”, a hyper-baroque hymn just got in. Its verse is close to Hard Rock, bridge and chorus are almost radio-friendly, the Teutons are into Rock as well.
Supersonic “Secrecy” is a bone-thrashing epilogue. Fast to the core! The boys have also prepared a cover on Accept’s “Son Of A Bitch”. Fire in the hall and a cover totally respecting the band and its origins. Can I hope they will dedicate this one to their “beloved” politicians?
