Paul Stanley posted on Twitter about the fact that Iron Maiden are not inducted into the Rock’n’Roll Hall Of Fame yet. At the moment they are trailing Tina Turner, Fela Kuti and The Go-Go’s for this years public polls.
“Regardless of whether it matters to them, MAIDEN not being in the @rockhall of Fame is INSANITY. Regardless of who is writing in or not, the Committee must induct them. They have helped spawn an entire genre of music. What else do you need to do??”
For the record, KISS although were eligible for induction since 1999 their first nomination came up in 2009 and they were finally inducted 5 years later.
Another example of an important metal band that’s not inducted yet is Judas Priest, who were also eligible since 1999 but didn’t get enough votes both in 2018 and 2020.
