The band from Seattle is celebrating twenty years of music in 2011. They have already named the year as “PJ20”. This double c.d. is the movie respective soundtrack (we will present the movie as soon as possible); the movie is the actual story of the band, from their founding date till today. It is a film / documentary directed by Cameron Crowe.

The package of this really interesting release is a collection of live performances, acoustic sessions, covers, demo and other special moments of this great rock band – probably the last of the great bands – through their tours and other activities during their entire course.

However, I feel that the movie DVD is the main course in this case; having seen some parts of the movie (it has not arrived yet), I do understand that the movie is the essence and the c.d. is simply escorting; I don’t want to underestimate the c.d. material, I just think it can not play the “best of” part, in contradiction with the movie.

“Twenty” is being released in book packaging the size of a cd.; it’s a rather special edition featuring a book containing lots of photographs as well as information about each performance separately. This is one more special Pearl Jam collection, inviting us to invest in it. My personal opinion is to invest; on the other hand though, this investment shouldn’t be done without the movie…
