“Prehate” is a band that come to us from our neighbor country of Italy and their first album “2012” is really energetic and dynamic. Their sound has classic “Death Metal” influences, but is also very modern.
The album from the first track until the last is really fast. They like to keep a fast pace in their tracks and thereby the sound is dominated by the drums.
Along with the fast drums they have achieved the guitar sound to be quite beautiful and melodic. This is to their credit. Really few bands of this genre give any attention to melody and the resulted sound is the usual noise.
While it is generally good album there is a big drawback. There is little to no variety to the album. They have created 3 or 4 nice riffs and they repeat them throughout the whole album. The first time I started listening to the album, while I was listening to the music I said to myself “Nice song but its too long” .Only then I realized I was listening to the 4th track.
A generally good first album from the Italians. I believe that if they put more work into it they can became favourites amongst the metalcore fans
