Puta Volcano - AMMA

Puta Volcano have landed. The band who made one of last decade’s best rock albums, have returned to earth and made AMMA. Riffs flow relentless, tracks build up with jams, the voice is powerful and mysterious, the overall mood holds you. It seems they’re a band who never follow the same path in perpetuum, and continue to enjoy themselves. Experimentation is in the nature of their musical make-up. AMMA is not as catchy an album, but it still follows paths that expose the bottomless pot of influences Puta Volcano carry in their arsenal, informing their songwriting. The highlights, in my opinion are Apnea and Space Blanket, both well-crafted, heavier tracks, and Kassandra’s Gift, is the perfect coda to this no-imitations experience of an album.
