Marsha Zazula, wife of Jon, co-founder of the historic Megaforce Records passed away at the age of 68, on Sunday, January 10.
The company got famous because after signing Metallica and releasing their first two albums, “Kill ‘Em All” and “Ride The Lightning”.
The band honored the memory of Marsha with a message on Instagram: “Rest In Peace, Marsha. Thank you for everything. Much love to @thejonzazula & the Zazula family.”
Megaforce started at a flea market in 1981 under the name “Rock’n’Roll Heaven”. It soon became a store, which was very influential in the heavy metal movement. In the winter of 1982, Jon received a demo tape of an underground band looking for a company to sign, Metallica. Wanting to have their music heard around the world, Jonny and Marsha founded Megaforce Records the following year and released “Kill ‘Em All” establishing itself as America’s ultimate heavy metal record company.
