Marty Callner’s name may not mean much to many people out there but believe us we are talking about a director who has marked the lives of millions of people around the world with his music videos. Famed music video director Marty Callner – who helped several of the biggest rock bands of the ’80s achieve mainstream video success – died at the age of 78 on March 17. Callner created – among other things – the promos for Twisted Sister’s “We’re Not Gonna Take It” and Whitesnake’s “Here I Go Again,” which helped ensure the bands’ successes without fail!

His work with Aerosmith – including “(Dude) Looks Like a Lady” and “Crazy” – and Cher’s “If I Could Turn Back Time”, kicked off new chapters in those artists’ careers. Whitesnake leader David Coverdale wrote the following regarding Callner’s death: “Heartbreaking news… What an amazing guy [and] super talent. My sincere condolences to Aleeza, his family, friends and fans.”
