Spencer Davis

A true rock’n’roll legend, Welsh guitarist Spencer Davis, founder of The Spencer Davis Group, has died in a Los Angeles hospital at the age of 81. Cause of death according to his manager, Bob Kirk, was pneumonia.

The Spencer Davis Group, along with the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, and Who, were the spearhead of the so-called “British invasion” in America in the 1960s.

Their biggest hits were “Keep On Running”, “Somebody Help Me”, “I’m A Man” and of course “Gimme Some Lovin”, a song that is still heard on the radio around the world today.
