Rickey Medlocke’s band returns with a new single entitled “Rise Again”.
Proceeds from the track will benefit the movement of missing and murdered indigenous women.
Rickey played drums and sang with Lynyrd Skynyrd from 1971 to 1972, on some songs that were to be released much later on “First And… Last”.
With Blackfoot he achieved great commercial success in the 1980s, and in 1996 he returned to Lynyrd Skynyrd as a guitarist at the invitation of Gary Rossington.
Medlocke, who was inducted into the Native American Music Hall Of Fame in 2008, continues to tour and record with Skynyrd to this day, and identifies himself as Native American, specifically Lakota Sioux and Cherokee!
