Famous Greek musician, composer and producer Vangelis was inspired by Rosetta’s mission and wrote a selftitled suite that will be released on September 23rd. The suite features 12 tracks, same number as the years it took the mission to land to Comet P67. The music was inspired after a conversation Vangelis had with astronaut Andre Kuipers. Vangelis says: “Mythology, science and space exploration are subjects that have fascinated me since my early childhood. And they were always connected somehow with the music I write.” Last year ESA streamed some of Vangelis’ Rosetta to accompany visuals from the mission and according to its spokesman, Carl Walker, “when we put the images together with the music, we thought it captured how people would feel if they were to see the comet for real. With music, you can enhance emotions and create memories. Vangelis wanted to share a lasting memory of our mission through his music.”
