Okay… Says here some Swedish guy has dreamt about a complete AOR album, filled with brilliant songs, sung by some awesomic singers, with a whole bunch participating and Frontiers releasing it in America and Europe… Sound familiar? Have I seen this one before? So, what’s the nature of my next deja-vu? Another unbelievable album? Yes, yes, YES!
Alexander Kronbrink is the name of the musician you have to blame for this “crime”; he’s the one building the whole thing here and I just hope AOR fans all over the world already know about him or, if not, that they are going to find out about him soon, in order to adore his work, cuz the guy is a contemporary Midas! He touches coal and it’s gold for us to listen to…
Intro is out and “Gonna show you the way” is on. I must confess I had already “listened” to it before listening to it! It’s one of those songs you just pray “it will go that way”! Oh and that one did go! Pleasant, fresh, enchanting, with a magical chorus.
Kronbrink has composed the songs, arranged them as well, he’s played the guitars of the album, he’s played some keyboards, too, he’s even sung some backing vox. He has also invited a dozen other musicians to play along. Amongst them, four lead singers, men and women, Marika Willstedt, Magnus Bäcklund, Kristoffer Fogelmark and Tove Lo, who perform like a million dollars!
“Easy listening”, ideal for a good mood, ideal to build a good mood in case yours is “trembling”… And it will, have no doubt about that! Smooth Jazz star, Jonathan Fritzen, is also present here, he’s a good friend of Alexander’s and one is always participating on the other’s projects.
A classic GOOD album; listen to it from top to bottom, then listen again. Is there something going on with the water in Sverige after all?
