First day of Spring, 2010. The Americans post over their official webpage… They have done most of the work recording the new songs, currently dealing with the lyrics. March 25, 2011; artwork and tracklisting revealed plus some hot news about the new album…

It’s been four years since “Paradise lost” and the progressive fire burns, brighter than ever! You might remember that it took them five years to come back with “The Odyssey” follow up… At the time I was writing my review and my exact comment was “It’s totally worth it! All the freaking way”! Well, deja-vu! It’s totally worth it! A million freaking ways more!

Those of you into this music, those of you reading and getting all the infosaturation you can (or can not) handle, you know these guys play like there is no tomorrow. You know they compose magnificent songs, you know how they perform on stage. “Paradise lost” has driven lots of people nuts… This one will drive us through the wall… Until the next one… or the next wall, for that matter…

Eleven min welcome with the title track, a Prog/Metal/Symphonic/X masterpiece! Complete and repeatable strokes; the keys are majestic, the tempo is fantastic and the guitar is spitting thunders. Russell Allen, as usual, is standing at the top of Everest, with his rough, Metallic, God-y voice. I’m listening to “Children of a faceless god” now and I just can’t help but feel surrounded by the passion, the power and technique of that voice. He’s a huge singer. And then… Romeo with the diamond touch… Michael Romeo is exhausting the sixchord, playing riffs which can not be played. I bet that Dave Mustaine is listening, red with envy… We’re talking masteRiffing in the power of infinite! As for his solos… Virtuoso/Metal grandeur!  The man is in love with Metal! The other “musketeer”, Michael Pinnella, is a keyboard painter, the source of every situation arising on the album. Add a simply fabulous rhythm section and then march towards the single “The end of innocence”, the magical recipe for pounding and… magic naturally!

Nine songs all over the album and you’ll be begging for more. That’s precisely why you will buy the special edition album that contains three more new babies. Btw, the band has already played four of the new songs live.

PERFECT SCORE X!
