Here at Rockpages we brag about not limiting ourselves into labels releases only, when it comes to new albums and furthermore remarkable rock bands. We get excited searching about potentially fine releases, which may not come to Greece, or other places for that matter, for certain reasons.

This double live c.d. by The Quireboys, who seem to live a second career, is one of those cases.

Tis album contains live and acoustic recordings from 2010, featuring the British band touring for “Halfpenny Dancer”. The band is into the acoustic motif(sic!) and the truth is they sound good playing that way; this is contemporary rock and roll, sonically and visually. Spike’s voice is precisely what they need in order to express the feeling they want to show.
The old songs sound amazingly well built; every hit of their first period is inside this album, plus selected covers are equally successful, with “Love To Love” (UFO) hitting the roof.

“Halfpenny Live” is a set of seventeen songs; listening to them one can feel he’s been “transferred” to a British pub, close to a small yet warm stage, watching the band.

This double c.d. is not available in record stores. You can buy it from the official band website, (www.quireboys.com ) , exclusively, it is a limited edition (one thousand copies only), digipack, signed by the band, in a very good price.

It’s really worth it, you are going to enjoy it, believe me.
