I have said it before…Triumph will always be my favorite Canadian band even though they were always under the shadow of the mighty Rush. In a 15-year career they delivered some really important and remarkable records. In addition, the impressed critics and fans alike with their inspiration and technical capabilities (especially, guitarist Rik Emmett was exceptional). After huge pressure –and despite the fact that Rik Emmett for a number of years refused quite stubbornly to commit to a full-blown reunion- Triumph stepped on stage for one more time at the prestigious Sweden Rock Festival that took place four years ago.

Frontiers Records released this performance in CD/DVD format and I must honestly say that this is an album forwarded strictly and exclusively to the die hard fan of the Canadian trio. The reason behind this assessment is that it includes only 10 songs that we have heard numerous times before in other official releases (yes, they are classics but still…I can’t see the reason why a non-connoisseur should invest on this one). Nevertheless, Triumph puts on an excellent and flawless show although we would have loved to be treated with such timeless anthems as “Follow Your Heart” and “Rock Out Roll On”.

All in all, it is a commemorative album with a pure nostalgic –yet short- content. I repeat: exclusively for the die hard fan.

Highlight: I still haven’t seen the DVD but I am sure that it would have more to offer than the c.d.
