At their recent appearance at the Freilichtbühne Peißnitzinsel, Halle (Saale) in Germany as part of their summer tour, Deep Purple played ‘Anya’ from 1993’s ‘The Battle Rages On’.
This particular song had not been played since 1995, i.e. a full 27 years, from the time when Steve Morse joined the band, but during this time he cannot offer his services to the historic group because he spends time with his wife who fights cancer. His replacement is the Irishman Simon McBride since May.
