Blackmores Night - Natures Light

It’s too much already. They’ve done the same thing over and over again. One would expect after six years of Blackmore’s Night recording absence to present something really new and exciting; possibly indicative of a renewal or something. My personal opinion is that Blackmore’s Night run out of fuel back in 2003 and the sensational “Ghost of a Rose”.

“Nature’s Light” is a “cheap” return of Blackmore’s Night with a nerveless and uninspired tunes excluding the very good “Feather In The Wind” and the follow-up in the tracklist, the instrumental “Darker Shade Of Black”, which is the most interesting cut on the album, but it is not enough to keep it at a high level.

Then, I find absolutely no interest at listening at a mediocre rendition of of “Wish You Were Here” from “Shadow Of The Moon” as well as the cover of “Second Element” that closes the album yet featuring a blistering guitar solo by Blackmore.

For many years, Blackmore’s Night seems to be stalled without the ideas that will catch the public’s attention, releasing below par records by investing on Blackmore’s very heavy name and their first four, excellent albums. I expect something much better in the future as…nature’s light doesn’t seem to shed his light or illuminate Ritchie and Candice…
