It’s a fact! Swedish musicians can play everything! You can ask for those 100-min long songs featuring thousands of tempo changes and weird orchestrations, you can ask for ultiMetal songs or Champions League Hard Rock anthems. Coldspell, hailing from the SwedNorth, the band guitarist Michael Larsson (R.A.W.) formed, have released their sophomore and they are here to shake the very ground we walk upon, when it comes to heavy Rock. Naturally… the land which gave birth to Europe, Treat and numerous other amazing bands can not stop producing. It’s as simple as that.

Coldspell is an impressive act, based on guitar themes, solid sound, first class musicians and a fantastic voice. Fearsome Hard Rock, AOR and Sleaze (check out “Fate”) elements, keyboards which intrigue the entire space, supeRiffs and the hit recipe! Verse is consisting of bass, clean cut guitar and atmosphere, bridge is where the ROCKish guitars enter and we’re off to a huge chorus! Yeap, they have all the hit colours! “Time” is one of the songs upon which this recipe is mirrored plus the majority of this album is built like that; the album is mixed by the colossal Tommy Hansen.

A video for “Heroes” (mastertrack – of course!) is already out, the press is talking about a band meeting the standards of groups the likes of Gotthard and WhiteSnake, whilst the lil’ thing I could add is the following. The peeps make songs we like, songs we dig, songs we can dance to, songs we can sing along, have fun and try to make it over the front row, to be able to sing AND see the band up close. Then it might as well come down with buckets, I don’t care one bit!
