I’d expected to be treated with a far better bunch of songs by Crazy Lixx. The band’s previous album, “New Religion”, that came out in 2010 was extraordinary thus raising our expectations for the Swedish outfit who found themselves being compared to such bands as Crashdiet and Hardcore Superstar. You see all the compositions were of the highest level and the band’s overall performance forced the global press to praise Crazy Lixx. So, after the recognition, came the time when everyone was anxiously awaiting for the band’s next move in the…musical chess board. Unfortunately, the follow-up to “New Religion” wasn’t up to par. It’s not that “Riot Avenue” is bad or mediocre but it certainly lacks that certain flame of inspiration that was so bloody evident in the previous album. Crazy Lixx should remember that after “New Religion” the bar is really high…

If we take aside the title track and “In The Night” the rest of the songs don’t display that wild and frenzy character of “New Religion” and are being comfortably confined into a simply “OK” status…nothing more or less!
We don’t write off Crazy Lixx because we really believe in them but they have to vindicate us next time around…

Highlight: New Wave of Swedish Glam Metal…what’s going on in this part of Scandinavian land..? Awesome results!
