Frontiers Records released the 6th album of the Swedish band Crazy Lixx, proving us once more that this company chooses to sign the right bands. Forever Wild is picking up from where Ruff Justice left off and is a great reminder of New Religion album, the album that made Europe and USA love Crazy Lixx.

Crazy Lixx has a strong music identity and not only belongs to the 80s melodic hard rock scene of the new generation, but also on the top list of the best representatives of this kind, together with H.E.A.T., Art Nation & Hardcore Superstar. The basic influences of those bands couldn’t be any other than Europe, Def Leppard, Βοn Jovi, Alien, FM and some hard n’ heavy bands such as Guns n’ Roses, Mötley Crüe etc.

The album was released in May 2019 and it’s even better than the previous one. Guitarists Chrisse Olsson and Jens Lundgren raised the quality and level of professionalism really high, making this band the leaders of the Swedish melodic scene for 2019.

“Wicked” is the first track of the new album and one of the band’s best moments. A complete melodic composition with the backing vocals almost taking the lead. The melody lifts the listener off the ground, taking him back to the 80s when hits like these were constantly on the top of the charts. As expected, this album has its own strong identity and is filled with summer hits.

The listening process revealed another exceptional moment. The song “Break Out” should have been written in 2010 and included in the New Religion album. Worth mentioning of course is the band’s video clip “Silent Thunder”, which could be easily included in my fictional category aviation AOR. Tom Cruise should have been also present in the video’s cast…
Beyond any doubt, this is the best hard rock release for 2019 till now. It should definitely be in every summer playlist!
