I’m about to put the next album on, to listen and write my tish… Gazing at the cover art… Taking a better look… Fate! “Dude, is it…”? Taking off the album sleeve, reading all about it… Yeah, it’s the same Fate, with Hank Shermann back then, in 1985. Yet, from that date till today, lots of peeps left the band, including Hank and many more were added to the memberslist… The boys had released “V” in 2006 and returned last year with a compilation disc.

Totally into Hard Rock, featuring multiple AOR spots; first track blasts out and it sounded a bit like Survivor for a few seconds; then some exquisite extravagant slower bridges and double bass drumshots (Seeds of terror) made the album sound more multi-angled and powerful. The new (since 2009) singer, Dagfinn Joensen, is armed with a mighty AORish, strong, rough voice, a voice sounding Metal from time to time. Same goes for the compositions. Fate totally own Hard Rock, thus they prefer to play ball in Metal fields, too, catching up with their older stuff.

Jacob Hansen has arranged the mixing thing, consequently there is no need to ask how the album is gonna sound, right? I’m loving the keyboards, they sound so Liteforce! The boys deliver a solid and thunderous playing and a killer performance and the songs appear to be radio hits! Listening to “All that I want” now and I’m searching for the jacket and shoes I used to wear in the 80’s… Yep, it’s back to the past and we’re gonna be part of that celebration… along with you guys and gals, of course!
