The German-Norwegian band is back, three years after “Nordlys” and I would like to invite each and every one of those into Elven Μetal, to come and sit around the fire and listen to this music. We have presented the group in the past; their style features massive baroque sound, heavy guitars and renaissance parts. The binding glue in this case is none other than Carmen Elise Espenaes’ voice. For those you not remembering our previous review, Carmen is Liv Kristine’s, she has a beautiful voice and a sweeeeet voice color and she’s singing heavenly! The band is totally pro, playing all those fantastic themes with such a grand style and attitude; drums are thundering, the band is also winning in 6/8 tempos, there are many symphonic parts as well and, to be honest with you, the album possesses that certain something which will make you love it.

Music is huge, cinematographic at some point, even ferocious… Then Carmen and her voice balance everything, Elves could never be offensive! I’m under the impression that Sharon and the boys in Within Temptation would easily register as fans – completely satisfied with this one! Midnattsol show their strong cards the way they should. Those of you thinking about going to the Metal Female Voices festival, should not think about it anymore. Go, this band will be there as well!
