The Norwegians had released, as a teaser for their upcoming album, “Intermission”, and when I found out I rushed to listen… Then listened some more… And then listened again and again… My review about their previous superalbum, “God’s equation”, was actually a series of praises… Four years later we face a new masterpiece! The Press is praising once again, who am I to choose a different path? That “Intermission” song was exophrenically good… Thus another perfect project is at hand…

The boys from Norge had lots of things to do over the past few years. They had their new songs they wanted to work with, they also had to find a new label… They made it! And they passed the challenges with flying colours! This album is divine to say the least and I’m gonna listen to it till the end of this freaking world – and I don’t mean next year…

So what do we have here? An unbelievable mixture of amazing Metal motif and mainstream freshness. I don’t think that these guys have ever written more catchy choruses; however, these choruses happen to be in total harmony with the band’s METAL nature. Just imagine a catapult sweetening up over chorus, whilst maintaining all Metal and Progressive elements, perfectly orchestrated and even more perfectly played.

“Walk away in silence”, “Into the aftermath” and everything I was talking about earlier meets infinite! The Pagan’s Symphonic Mind functions in the best possible way and production is the exact same every musicians is dreaming about. Feel free to take this album to a thousand bands out there. No matter how big or small, every single one would say they want to sound exactly like them.

Nils’ voice hardly needs any introductions. His larynx is unique and, on top of everything, he’s theatrical to the core. As for Jorn’s guitars, they are dreamy! Superb solos, inspiration, passages… The man is a magician! I wouldn’t want to leave out the other members; Steinar, Stian and Ronny (bass, drums and keys respectively) are huge, HUGE musicians! “Revelation to the End” is a eight and a half min hymn, featuring intermissions ala King Diamond and an award winning outburst.

Many peeps out there complain about the fact that there are not many super groups anymore. And they are totally right about it. Now, wouldn’t you say it’s time all these peeps support a fabulous band like these guys over here and make them well-known everywhere in the galaxy? Cuz these Pagan’s Mind dudes are one heck of a supergroup! SUPERGROUP!
