This is the first really good album of 2012! The German outfit of Primal Fear worked hard and achieved to pleasantly surprise us all with their newest album. I must be honest with you; being a longtime fan of the band, I was really worried because the last couple of records with all those symphonic elements were not suitable (from my perspective) for Primal Fear’s overall sound. Luckily, with “Unbreakable”, Primal Fear restores things to their usual place as they write in their familiar style that wonderfully combines traditional heavy metal (in the vein of Priest) with power metal. Also, they made every effort this time around to focus on many mid-tempo songs that bring in mind the atmosphere of the classic “Under Your Spell”.

Ralf Scheepers’ voice is as always perfect while the overall performance of Mat Sinner, Magnus Karlsson, Randy Black & Alexander Beyrodt is flawless. The first video for “Bad Guys Wear Black” is already available in YouTube and you should definitely check it out. Let’s hope that a Greek promoter will decide to bring Primal Fear to Greece…their return is long overdue.

Highlight: I still haven’t found out from the previous album what the number 16.6 means…I must remember to ask the guys in the next interview.
