It’s useless to introduce this band; it’s the almighty Sepultura! It’s not fair to compare the old Sepultura with the new one, even though some heavy riffs remind me something from the past. It was about time to release a new album! “Kairos”  includes 15 songs and 2 bonus tracks and lasts for 53 minute and 10 seconds. It’s a blend of dark heavy riffs, drumming and growling vocals and some parts are similar to those of Death.

“Kairos” includes a great Ministry cover of “Just One Fix” and a different Prodigy cover of “Firestarter”. I listened to this album many many times and I really felt the thrash comeback of Sepultura. After 4 listening sessions, I felt frustrated by Derrick’s vocals and some riffs kept going on and on in my mind reminding me of other bands’ riffs… Riffs similarity is not a point for discussion. Though Sepultura has written many pages in the golden era of Metal, this album is completely different from what we expected Sepultura would release. Who are we, by the way, to judge whether the band should release this album or not? From nothing, personally I prefer something and “Kairos”  is more than something; it’s different! As the band has stated in the past “We cannot please everybody, that’s impossible and hopefully we never will” (Thumbs up!!!)

“Kairos”  is a good, solid album of the brand new Sepultura and I really enjoyed “Mask”, “Seethe”, “Born Strong”, “No One Will Stand” tracks.
