The tracks appear to be little worked on, and a lack of inspirational force is obvious. To begin with, I would say that the album’s ‘greatest gits’ are “Innocence Is No Excuse” and “Live For Today”. When compared to any other Sleaze release of the last year, though, the outcome seems unimportant and with not much to offer. Adding to that recipe 3 covers (“Hot & Cold” by Katy Perry, Elvis Presley’s “Always on my Mind” as well as a version of a dreadful 30 second version of “Happy Birthday to You”), which could be omitted, mainly due to the singer’s inability to cope with the original, and you get the idea.
A notable, basic member of the band in this effort is guitar player Keri Kelli (ex-Alice Cooper). An important highlight of the release is the band’s collaboration with Jeni Lane in “Far Away”, a track which is not at all a bad surprise, thanks to the sweet sensation late Lane’s unforgettable voice can offer.
I would like to get the chance to listen to the rest of their works and see for myself whether this last release was just a bad parenthesis for Shameless’ discography.
