The big comeback! One of the few hard rock bands of our country that left an indelible mark back in the 90s and returned stronger than ever releasing a new album 30 years after their debut. Silver R.I.S.C. is the band on which the whole structure of the Rockpages 20th anniversary celebration was built…and that was no coincidence! But now we would have the opportunity after a long time to enjoy the band on stage presenting a full set, or if you prefer to be present at the official live presentation of “Knot Over”.

This particular stage at the Gyalino Music Theatre holds around 150 people and the place was packed from early on. In fact, if it weren’t for the tables, it would probably fit more but that didn’t take away from the pulse throughout the live performance. The night started with Impact Factor, a cover band that I wasn’t familiar with and left a positive impression on me both because of their overall presence but mostly because of their song selection. White Lion, Gotthard, Bon Jovi, Deep Purple, Ozzy were just a few of the names that Impact Factor covered successfully, making them a good…appetizer for the main course.

At exactly 11:30 Silver R.I.S.C. took the stage with “Anything She Does” and from early on the place was on fire! Up next, we were treated with back to back performances of “Bad Person”, “Evil Waves” and “She Smiles To The Rainbow” from the new album and it was obvious that the guys were in great shape, they have worked on every detail and the presence of new bassist Kiki Karanikola has revived Silver R.I.S.C contributing decisively to the backing vocals. In a night full of highlights I would definitely have to choose the flawless performances of my favorites “Anna”, “Cry No More” and “Wasted Tears” from “Knot Over”, the thrilling closing with a touching (different) version of “Trapped Under The Ice” in which all the band members shared the lead vocals and the presence of various members of prominent bands of the Greek scene such as Raw Silk, Nok Aout, InnerWish, Wild Machine etc. Congrats, guys!

It was a night that we will remember for a long time and we hope that there will be a continuation soon both in concert and on a record level. The only sure thing is that…it’s (k)not over yet!
