It seems like yesterday when Nikki Sixx kicked off his –then- side project of SIXX: A.M. which was more or less at the time an ideal excuse to accompany his best seller book “The Heroin Diaries” with a short of soundtrack to that diary. Sixx brought along with him his friends DJ Ashba & James Michael thus a new supergroup was born. In 2007 when the album was released it gained rave reviews –and quite rightfully, if you ask me- while the leading single “Life is Beautiful” must have been the best piece of work that Sixx came up with since 1994.

Fast Forward 10 years and what started as a side project, is now regarded as a regularly functioned band and the debut album now celebrates its 10th anniversary…time flies or what? Nikki Sixx thought that it would be a fitting opportunity to re-release both the book and the album with brand new cover sleeves and various extras. In regards with the CD we are treated with three different versions of “Life is Beautiful 2017”, “Accidents Can Happen 2017”, “Girl With The Golden Eyes 2017” plus an illustrated, varied booklet. It must be noted that all the die hard fans should definitely check out the popular PledgeMusic platform for additional collectibles.

Now, one could easily ask: “is this reissue worth our money”? Well, it depends. If you are a collector who wants to have it all, it goes without saying. As for the others, let’s just say that for only three different editions of well-known songs, it doesn’t really make a difference.
Highlight: In 2007 there was a special, deluxe edition of “The Heroin Diaries” that included also a live EP. It was sold exclusively via the Best Buy store chain and it is considered a collector’s item.
