She’s wearing black and white outfits, amongst others, during the “Coward” video, she pounds in front of a castle, and she leaves certain “notes” in the mirror… Amanda Somerville’s supernatural voice is stepping on songs she wrote, along with superb composers Sascha Paeth and Sander Gommans; the whole project is baptized “Trillium” and some remarkable musicians assume position, to record the songs.

To tell you the truth, I like the following song, “Purge”, even more. Isn’t it fun that the next song is better than the previous one, with the previous being a GREat song already! The album style points at that well-known Heavy Rock featuring some symphonic spots and the Kamelot/Epica technique, which is natural, with Paeth being part of the big picture. No more comments are needed concerning Miss Somerville’s voice, the American who’s been living in Europe for the past twelve years sounds brilliant, whether she’s singing low notes or “taking off” in the course of the album. Songs are powerful, heavy, with double bass drumming and axes, varying in speed and motif.

I’m listening to “Mistaken” now… Maaaan, why didn’t you make a video for this song? With an opening theme like that, with a chorus like that… This is one hymn-song and I get the feeling that Simone Simons would kill to sing that song herself.

Starvoice Jorn Lande is appearing on the album, too, in a duet with Somerville on “Scream it”. The rough, white-serpent voice is embracing the crystal clear caramel larynx…
