After a small delay, we finally get to listen to a sample of the upcoming U.D.O. album which will be called “Rev-Raptor”. According to the fixed policy of AFM, this EP proceeds the full-length record and adds to the already high interest due to the inevitable comparisons that will be made with the brilliant comeback of Accept.

Let’s see what we ge with “Leatherhead”…four audio tracks and two video-clips that wet our appetite for what we are about to receive…the first two songs (the title track and “Rock N’ Roll Soldiers”) are typical U.D.O. compositions that we have heard from the band many times in the last 5-6 years (especially, “Leatherhead” bears a striking resemblance to the style of “The Bogeyman”). The two closing tracks are the absolute highlight of the release. “Free or Rebellion” is a magnificent, teutonic, anthemic tune that takes us back to the “Thunderball” days while the brilliant ballad “Run” will surely remind similar classic moments like “Cry Soldier Cry”, “Blind Eyes”, “Sweet Little Child” etc.

Let’s hope that “Rev-Raptor” will be in the same vein as the last couple of songs (although, these can only be found in the EP).

Highlight: The two video-clips are for “Leatherhead” and “Jingle Balls”.
