This is a much anticipated and extremely interesting release. It might have taken almost 20 years to find its way on a digital format but at last the “Sea of Tranquility” tape that Warlord’s mastermind, Bill Tsamis, had recorded and gave away to only a few lucky friends and fans back in 1993-94, is being released in a limited edition c.d. (500 copies) by No Remorse Label.

This specific project by Tsamis is aimed really towards two kinds of listeners: the first is, naturally, the fanatic audience of Warlord (and subsequently of Tsamis) who want to have it all and the second one is all those out there who appreciate good, new age music that has little (or more precisely nothing) in common with the hard hitting rock music. “Sea of Tranquility” includes 8 instrumental compositions written and performed in synthesizer. If you are looking for the familiar Warlord sonic landscape, well, this is not your cup of tea (although, there is the ever present epic atmosphere in here, too, especially in “King of Kings” and “Melody For Piano and Orchestra No. 1”). But if you really liked the two Lordian Guard records, then you’re gonna love the “Sea of Tranquility” project…after all, some musical pieces have been used in the latter Lordian Guard records.

“Sea of Tranquility” stands in between Warlord and Lordian Guard. This was a really emotional period for Bill Tsamis and is being perfectly reflected on the compositions. It proves once again that you don’t need loud guitars, big drums and huge production in order to bring forth good music. The only thing that you need is a talent in composing good songs. Bill Tsamis is a rare talent and “Sea of Tranquility” provides the necessary evidence!

Highlight: In the recent Warlord biography that came out earlier this year (and that it will be reprinted with additional material in 2013) there is plenty of information in regards with the “Sea of Tranquility” project.
