The time has come for the 28th album of british rock legends Wishbone Ash. A very strong return for Andy Powell, the original lead quitarist and lead vocalist of the band, under the title ‘Elegant Stealth’.  This album is a very happy surprise because it contains all those classic elements that continue to influence all generations of rock musicians from the 70s until today. The melodic riffs, the excellent twin guitars and the jamming mood are some of them, which of course excite the listener.

Eleven songs are included here plus an alternate version of ‘Reason to believe’ (as a special hidden track), of inspired hard rock in the classic progressive mood of Wishbone Ash.  ‘Elegant Stealth’ seem to leave their previous mediocre album, “The Power Of Eternity”, miles away, making the fans proud of the new release.

In two tracks we meet some very interesting guest appearances. Mama’s Boys’ guitarist Pat McManus plays the violin (!) in the prog “Can’t Go It Alone” and Deep Purple’s keyboardist Don Airey plays the hammond organ in a fantastic instrumental-jam called ‘Mudslick’.

‘Elegant Stealth’ has only very good moments and excellent songs that deserve to be heard and spoted again by every hard rock and progressive fan, in order to be clearly understood, that Wishbone Ash was the major influence for the famous twin guitars of the mighty Judas Priest, Thin Lizzy and of course Iron Maiden.
