That’s weird… right when this review was written it was announced that Alpha Tiger’s singer, Stephen Dietrich, is leaving the band that is looking for a replacement. The reason is to devote himself to his personal life, as well as to his new job!
“iDentity” is a honest, teutonic high energy hard rock album that will remind you of Kingdom Come, Riot, Queensryche, Lizzy Borden, and more, which is something positive. The band worked with Tommy Newton, after recently hiring a modern producer (Mirco “Godi” Hildmann) turned them to the experience of an “older” guy with UFO, Victory and Gamma Ray in his resume. Production and mixing are pretty good giving a helping hand to Alpha Tiger to achieve a pretty good result.
Unfortunately, the singer who just quit the band puts his mark on this album, which seems that was cut for him. Without a doubt changing lead singer is a crucial moment for a band, whether we’re talking about AC/DC, Black Sabbath, or Alpha Tiger. The singer is what the listener, and potential fan listens to, identify, and sees first, without wanting to be misunderstood by drummers, and bassists! Good luck boys!
